From wife's obituary: ...Her husband, a prominent retired Pennsylvania railroad conductor, was almost instantly killed on the afternoon of October 3, 1928, when accidentally shot by another hunter while hunting squirrel on the J.B. Wallace farm three miles northeast of this city.
