Tony was born Anton Čop, a son of Stanko Čop (Stanley Chop) and Anna Stribine aka Anka Strbrni. His Wisconsin, USA, birth certificate said they lived at 40 - 39th St., Wauwatosa, Milwaukee County. Tony had one son, Robert Vincent "Porky" Chop, b. 8 Feb. 1936, d. 9 Aug 1951; and one daughter, Carole M. Chop. Our Dad's cause of death was cirrhosis of the liver and hemorrhage into the gastro-intestinal tract, but it was alcoholism that caused his death. The Fourteenth Census of the United States: 1920--Population for the State of Pennsylvania, Conway Borough, Beaver, lists him erroneously as being born in Pennsylvania. During World War II, he served with the Army of the United States in Company A 15th Armored Infantry Battalion 5th Armored Division. He was an M1 Rifle Expert in Combat Infantry. Battle campaigns: GO 33 & 40 WD/45 Rhineland Ardennes Central Europe. Decorations and Citations: Good Conduct Medal, EAME THR Service Medal w/3 Bronze Stars, and a Victory Medal. Tony had 5 months and 24 days Continental Service and 1 year and 29 days Foreign Service. His total mustering out pay was $300 and he received $14.30 travel pay. He was honorably discharged on 6 February 1946. He was dead in a little over 4 years.
