MRS. ESSIE ELIZABETH ABELL, 87, of Raywick, died at the Mary Immaculate Hospital on December 8, 1973, at 7:45 p.m. Mrs. Abell is the daughter of the late Ben and Priscilla Thomas Luckett. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Abell Sr., and two daughters, Mrs. Paul Stiles and Miss Emma Abell. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Joe Dowling of Campbellsville; Mrs. Hazel Brown of Los Angeles, California; two sons, Walter Abell Jr. of Raywick; Ben Luckett Abell of Louisville; one sister, Mrs. Newt Spalding, Lebanon; one brother, Ben T. Luckett of Lebanon; 17 grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday with Fr. Thomas Caldwell officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Name of Mary Cemetery at Calvary. Pallbearers were Walter Abell III, Joe, Billy, and Ricky Dowling, Johnny Stiles and Bill Heyna.
