Miss Peggy Vera Hughes, 18, died Wednesday morning at the Georgetown County Memorial Hospital where she had been in critical condition from injuries received in an automobile accident on January 6.

Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Julius M. Kirkland and the Rev. Themous J. Cribb officiating. Burial will be in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens, directed by Mayer Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Cribb, Bobby Reid, Bill Siau, Eddie Wren, Sid Morris, and Gary McMeekin.

Miss Hughes, a daughter of Jesse Willard Hughes and Mrs. Alma Cagle Hughes, was born in Kingstree August 22, 1948. She was a member of the senior class at Winyah High School, a former cheerleader and active in school programs. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Surviving are: her parents of 8 Camelia Circle; her paternal grandmother, Sallie W. Hughes of Kingstree; and her maternal grandfather, William J. Cagle of Hemingway.
