Arden was born to Edwin & Caroline (Lundby) Romsos and was raised in Cameron, Wisconsin and graduated from Cameron High School in 1961. After graduating, he attended the University of Minnesota and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical Engineering. He later received a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA. Arden retired as a Major in the U.S. Marine Corps after serving 21 years as an air traffic controller and radar procurement officer.
