Daughter of the late Russell R. and Ruth L. Clare Bonge, she was a 1971 graduate of Enid High School. She graduated with a B.S.W. from Northwestern State University in Alva, OK, where she was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority. She was a member of Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church where her Mass of Christian Burial was held on April 6, 2010, with Father Kevin Ratterman officiating. She was survived by two brothers, Mike and Marc; and an extended family of relatives. "She experienced a life long struggle of physical challenges which she met with dogged determination. She did not complian and fought pain until her death." A plane of the United States Air Force was named in her honor, "The Stephanie Bee."
