CLEVELAND >> Madeline T. Vanderworken, 90, of 8729 Elpis Road, Cleveland, died Tuesday afternoon Nov. 18, 2014 in the Rome Center where she had been a resident since June 26, 2014.Madeline was born on March 29, 1924 in Wampsville a daughter of George and Marguerite Ranynore Tooke. A lifelong resident of the area she lived in Wampsville for many years before moving to Cleveland in 1974.She was a graduate of Oneida High School and attended Mary Rose College.Madeline was the widow of Henry Frederick Vanderworken whom she married on Nov. 30, 1940 in Canastota. For 35 years she was employed in the Sales Office of Oneida Ltd. and she retired in 1984.Madeline was a member of the Cleveland-Sylvan Beach Senior Citizens Club, the Oneida Ltd. Retirement Club and the Community Associated Clubs. She and her husband loved to travel.Surviving are two daughters, Joan Cook of Madison and Betty Jennings of Cleveland; one son, Frederick Vanderworken of Cleveland; six grandchildren, Stephen Putman, Michael Putman, Matthew Putman, Rebecca (Frederick) Gostling, Paul (Amy) Jennings II and Shelley (Vincent) Arendosh; seven great-grandchildren, seven great great-grandchildren, several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; four brothers, Arthur Tooke of Oneida, Ronald Tooke of Liverpool, Roger (Kathy) Tooke of Rome and William (Adrian) Tooke of Olean; one sister, Helen Menning of Munnsville and many nieces and nephews.She was pre-deceased by her parents; her husband; a son, Robert; a grandson, Christopher Jennings; sons-in-law, Ernest Cook and Paul Jennings; sisters, Margaret Johnson and Arlene Tooke, and brothers, Larry Tooke, David Tooke, Irving Tooke and Phillip Tooke.Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014 from the Ironside Funeral Home, Inc. with the Rev. Neil D. Coe officiating. Inurnment will be made privately in Lenox Rural Cemetery Canastota. Friends are invited and may call 12-2 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home, 342 Main St., Oneida.
