Wilma Neva LaSalle, daughter of William and Mina (Hayes) Brooks, was born September 10, 1914, in Norton County, Kansas, and passed away at the Cedar Living Center in Oberlin, Kansas, on October 27, 2011, at the age of 97.

Wilma attended rural grade school in Norton County and graduated from the Clayton High School. On July 22, 1936, she married Elden LaSalle in Norton. They made their home on the farm in Norton County where she was a homemaker for over 40 years. They moved to Norton for a short time until Elden's death in 1984. She later moved to Oberlin where she had made her home for the last eight years. Wilma was a member of the Clayton United Methodist Church.

Survivors are: son and his wife, Ralph and Phyllis LaSalle, Oberlin; grandchildren, Roger and wife, Jennifer LaSalle, Kim and husband, Ken Carter, Lisa and husband, Jamie Fortin; great-grandchildren, Justin and wife, Karen Carter, Casey Carter, Lindsay, Lance, Lauren, and Logan Fortin, Blake and Tyler LaSalle; great-great-grandchildren, Chandler Sumner, Olivia, Ella, Jack, and Max Carter and a host of relatives and friends.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Woodrow and Howard Brooks, and three sisters, Irene (in infancy,) Vera Wiltfong, and Olene Hillebrand.
