Henry Bernhardt Olbermann was born July 25, 1854 to Frederick B. and Katrina (Catherine) Midelkamp Dirsing Olbermann.

They had 6 children: Catherine M.; Joseph Henry George William; Mary (Mamie) Elizabeth; Martha Frances; Ethel Amelia;John Henry Olbermann, Sr.

He was a driver,(drove a 3-horse wagon) and then a Foreman for Standard Oil, in the Bronx, for a total of 26 years.

When Henry was a young man, he was plowing a field one day when he heard a voice saying, "Hank". He looked all around, only his horse was in the field with him. The voice said, "Hank, you drink too much, you should stop drinking."
He never took a drink from that day on.

He began preaching in various missions, one being the Dwyer St. Mission in Chinatown. He taught at a non-denominational Sunday School at Morris Ave.

He was buried from St. Ann's Church of Morrisania, Bronx, N.Y. on August 17, 1922.

He was a good father. There are no photographs available; We are still searching...

KURZ-HABECK FAMILY BIBLE
Henry B. presented this Bible to Peter and Caroline Habeck Kurz on their wedding day. The Bible was passed down to Henry B. Olbermann's grandson, John Henry Olbermann,Jr. and John presented the Bible to cousin, Robert Hall, a Habeck descendant.
