He was a veteran of the United States Army having enlisted at age of 19.
Charles traveled for most of his life as a trucking associate. As his life was nearing the end, he ask to be cremated and his ashes be buried at the foot of his mother's grave. He died at age 60 succumbing to a chronic lumg ailment.
His mother, father, and his brother, Bill Arnold, preceded him in death. He was, also, preceded in death by his first child, a daughter named Martha Ann, and by his grandparents.
He was survived by his two sisters, Rita and Maxine, and one brother, Rickey Arnold, his step-father, and several children, including his youngest son, Benjamin Jacob Arnold.
