Charles Gerald Buntyn, 78 of Moss Point, passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 in Pascagoula. He was born October 3, 1931 in Newton County, Mississippi. Mr. Buntyn owned and operated Buntyn Monument Company with his wife Drunett from 1954 until 1997. He was a long-time member of the Moss Point Lodge #202 F&AM and attended Caswell Springs United Methodist Church. Mr. Buntyn was a pilot who enjoyed flying friends to Chandeleur Island. He was a shrimp boat captian, a beekeeper and enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially at his farm in Newton County. He was an avid fisher, hunter and marksman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Cornelius and Lillian Odell Buntyn; his loving wife, Edna Drunett Goff Buntyn; and a brother, Terry Buntyn. Mr. Buntyn is survived by his four children, Barbara and Joe Boughton of Gautier, Gerald and Diane Buntyn of Dothan, Alabama, Abby and Lawrence "Speedy" Weaver of Lucedale and Linda and Farhan Baig of Kuwait; grandchildren, Deedy and David Fayard, Jennifer and Carl Stringfellow, Summer and Chad Lisenby, Melissa Zebracki, Melinda and Arnold Crawley and Michelle Zebracki; Great-Grandchildren, Gracie, Conner, Charlie, William, Olivia, Ryan, Mikel and Ryley; and numerous other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Saturday, April 10, 2010 from 1:00 until 2:45pm at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point. A graveside service will follow at 3:00pm at Griffin Cemetery in Moss Point with Rev. Brian Scott officiating. Masonic Rites will be given at graveside. Pallbearers Chad Lisenby, Carl Stringfellow, Arnold Crawley, Joe Boughton, Pat Switzer, Lawrence Weaver and Mark Maples.
