George S. “Inky” Innes Jr., 72, of 219 N. McKean St., Kittanning died Sunday at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. He was born Oct. 24, 1915 in East Brady to George S. and Annabelle (Toy) Innes Sr. He lived all his life in the Kittanning area and attended the Grace Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the American Legion Post 122 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 863, both of Kittanning. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II, having served in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre. He was former director of the Armstrong County Veterans Affairs, where he had served for eight years. Surviving are his wife, Mary (Patton) Innes; one daughter, Mrs. Richard J. (Pamela) Kunselman of Worthington RD1; two brothers, Charles Innes of Leechburg and James Innes of Freeport; six sisters, Mrs. Margaret Markle of Freeport, Mrs. Helen Beer of Warren, Ohio, Mrs. Lillian McGregor and Mrs. Florence Chambers, both of Freeport, Mrs. Quincey (Annabelle) Urso of Etna and Mrs. Charles (Dorothea) Bowser of Kittanning; and one grandson. He was preceded in death by one son, George Michael Innes, and one granddaughter. INNES – Friends of George S. “Inky” Innes Jr., 72 of 219 N. McKean St., Kittanning who died Sunday, Dec. 6, 1987, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Bauer Funeral Home in Kittanning, where funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. James Monticue officiating. Burial will follow in Lawn Haen Burial Estates. Arrangements by Bauer.
