Daughter of: Melvin & Malenda Huff Powell.

Mrs. Rachel Belle Greathouse, age 82, of Spencer, Route 4, died Sunday, May 16, at her home following an illness of four months. Mrs. Greathouse was born in Wetzel County, a daughter of Melvin Powell and Malinda (Huff) Powell. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late A. E. Greathouse. Mrs. Greathouse was a member of the Gilboa Baptist church.

Surviving are two sons, Harry Greathouse, of Spencer, Route 4, and Clarence Greathouse, of Spencer; one daughter, Mrs. Ottie Murray of Reedy, Route 3; fourteen grandchildren, and five great grandchildren; and one brother, Franklin Powell, of Spencer, Route 4.

Last Rites were conducted at two-thirty o'clock Tuesday afternoon, May 18, from the Gilboa Baptist church, with the Reverend W. D. Dotson, of Parkersburg officiating. Burial was made in the Hodam Chapel cemetery with the Hardman-Conrad Funeral Home in charge.
