I don't know why the first name on her stone is Alice because her given name was Sarah Alice as you can see in her obituary and it is also Sarah Alice on her death certificate with the information given by her husband. Apparently, they called her Alice but her true name was Sarah Alice?

MRS. PREWITT, 55, OF CENTRALIA DIES; FUNERAL SATURDAY
CENTRALIA --- Mrs. Melvin Prewitt, 55, Centralia, died at 11:15 o'clock last night in Community Hospital, Moberly, where she had been a patient the past nine weeks.
Mrs. Prewitt, the former Miss Sarah Alice Ferneau, was born Sept. 11, 1902 in Tama county, Iowa. On April 17, 1948, she was married to Melvin Prewitt who survives.
Also surviving are four brothers, Harry Ferneau of LeGrand, Iowa, Frank and Fred Ferneau of Tama, and Glen Ferneau of Grinnell, Iowa; and three sisters, Mrs. Elsie Allen of Centralia, Mrs. Harriett Hagan of Marshall Town, Iowa, and Mrs. Effie Letch of Clinton, Iowa.
Mrs. Prewitt was a member of the First Baptist Church and the VFW auxiliary and a former member of the Rebekah Lodge.
The body is at the Meader Funeral Home in Centralia where it will remain until services at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the First Baptist Church. The pastor, the Rev. Elwood Kelly, will officiate and burial will be in the Centralia cemetery.
