Joy E. McCallum, 63, Marion, died at 11:27 p.m. Sunday, April 11, 2010 in her residence.

She was born in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her biological mother, Edith Jones McIntyre.

Joy served with her husband, Rev. Charles J. McCallum, Jr. in the pastorate for many years including; Ticondiroga Wesleyan Church, Ticondiroga, N.Y., Lakeview Wesleyan Church, Marion, IN, Ninth Street Wesleyan Church in Newcastle, Spring St. Wesleyan Church, Ft. Wayne, IN, Concordia Wesleyan Church, Concordia, Kansas, and Westview Wesleyan Church in Jonesboro. Joy also served the Indiana North District on the ladies retreat committee and Wesleyan Women on the local as well as the district level. She was formerly the office manager of Lakeview Christian School from 1984 — 1996 and was the office manager for the Division of Modern Language and Literature at Indiana Wesleyan University for 12 years. She was a member of Compass Church, Byron Center, Michigan and attended College Wesleyan Church in Marion. For 25 years, Joy taught children's church. She enjoyed playing scrabble and attending her grandchildren's activities. She was a dedicated pastor's wife who had a servants' heart.

Funeral services will be Thursday, April 15, 2010 in College Wesleyan Church, 200 E. 38th. St., Marion with the Rev. Steve DeNeff, the Rev. Robert Van Cise and Dr. Judy Huffman officiating. Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park, Marion, IN.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, 2010 in Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 North Baldwin Ave. Marion, IN and also from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Thursday April 15, 2010 in the chapel at College Wesleyan Church, 200 E. 38 St. Marion, IN.

Memorials may be made to the Joy E. McCallum memorial scholarship fund at Indiana Wesleyan University.
