He spent his younger days around Naples and Prattsburg. At the age of 18 he answered the call of his country and enlisted in Sept. 2, 1864 in the 188th regiment, NY State Vol., Co. B and served until April 1, 1865, when he was wounded in the battle of Five Forks, VA when struck by a shell fragment in his left thigh while the company was charging the earthworks on the White Oak Road. He was initially treated in the field and later transferred to the hospital at City Point, VA. On April 19, 1865 he was admitted to Ward 10 of the Harewood U.S.A. General Hospital at Washington, D.C. On his admission card it was noted that he was 18 years of age, single, had been admitted from City Point, Virginia and that his residence was with his father William Albright in Ontario County, New York.
When Judson died in 1923, he had been under the medical attendance of L. FitzSimmons, M.D., from June 27th, 1922 for a foot ailment.
From a Pulteney article, dated Feb. 28, 1923: Judson Albright died at his home Monday night Feb. 19th. The funeral services were held from the Presbyterian church Friday at 1 o'clock, Rev. A. B. Schofield officiating. Auxillary No. 27 attended the services. Dan Albright and Leslie Albright both of Rochester, were here to attend the funeral of Judson.
