Charles was killed when he ran a stop sign and his auto hit the cab of a truck loaded with steel on Route 18, North of Wilmington, Pennsylvania. The 21-year-old driver of the truck, from Sharpsville, Pennsylvania, escaped unhurt.
Charles and his wife, Katherine Lawless, had no children.
