Permelia lived a long life in the unselfish service of mankind, with her every effort, Good Samaritan Like, was to relieve and, in every way possible, help her neighbor. Which she was every ready and willing to do regardless of who it might be.

The daughter of David and Mary Cook, married G W Milner about 1870, this young couple started out on life's journey with nothing but love for each other and a determination to dare and to do. They were rewarded with a long life, respected and loved by everyone. There were nine children born of this union, Millie Milner Thorton, Kate Milner Hubbard, Mary Milner Almon, Lorena Milner Gibson, D. D. Milner, J.L. Milner, J.W. Milner, R.L. Milner, and L.B. Milner.

Permelia was a faithful member of Oak Ridge Primitive Baptist Church, whose tenets she clung to with Christ-Like fidelity. The mortal remains of this precious mother was buried in the Cemetery at Liberty Hill Chapel, on May 24th, with appropriate funeral rites.
