Virgil Allen Hower died Thursday, July 21, 1893. He was a retired senior vice president and director of the Van Rialto Company.

He had served as a first lieutenant and was an observer (bombardier) with the 96th Aero Squadron of the Army Air Service from August 1917 to December 1918.

Hower is survived by his wife, Elinor MacBrayne Ford Jones Hower; two sons: Condit Hower of Darien, Conn., and Edward Hower of Ithaca; and for grandchildren.
