Funeral services for Mrs. Lila Irene White will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 30, 1986) at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel in Edina with the Rev. Luke Turnbough officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Carmel cemetery, southwest of Edina. Bearers will be Lanny Bowen, Kim Smith, Vic Shubert, Dale Nichols, Bobby Smith and Richard McMasters.
Mrs. White, 80, of La Plata and formerly of Rutledge and Edina, died at 9:30 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 27, 1986) at Kirksville Osteopathic Medical Center.
Born March 17, 1906 in Scotland county, she was the daughter of Calvin Potter. and Lida Luella (Watson) Coslett. On Dec. 24, 1933 at Edina, she married Gaylord Lee White who preceded her in death on May 5,1961.
Also preceding her in death were four brothers, Merle Coslett, John Coslett, Charles Coslett and Ray Coslett and two sisters Maggie Shubert an Virginia Coslett who Died in infancy.
Surviving are two sons, Larry D. White and Richard White, both of LaPlata; a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Betty) Heimer of Edina; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. White resided in Rutledge and for several years was employed by Burnham Glove Factory and the Gibson Hospital Edina. She later was employed by Kirksville Osteopathic Medical Center and during. the early 1960s, she managed a restaurant in Kansas City. For two years, she made her home with a son, Larry White, in Kentucky and in 1978, they moved to La Plata where she resided in the Whites Golden Years Residential Care Facility.
