MR. GOLDEN
OPELIKA, Ala. -- Mr. James R. Golden, 69, of Opelika died Friday, April 13, 2001 at Bethany House in Auburn, Ala.
Funeral services were held Sunday, April 15 at 4 p.m. (EDT) at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with the Rev. John LeLand officiating. Burial followed in Shady Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Golden is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edna R. Golden; two sons, Jimmy Wayne (Rhonda) Golden of Memphis, Tenn., and Bryant Stuart Golden of Atlanta, Ga.; his grandson, Michael Wayne Golden, son of Mrs. Vickey Cason of Opelika; his grandson and granddaughter by marriage, Jon-David and Natalyia Coursey of Reynoldburg, Ohio; three sisters, Judy Mickler and Patricia Ray, both of Opelika, and Doshie Ellis of Baton Rouge, La.; and four brothers, Candy Golden, Perry Golden, Ronnie Golden and Roy Golden, all of Opelika.
Born Jan. 13, 1932 in Montgomery, Ala., Mr. Golden served in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He retired from Ampex Corp. after 34 years of service. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bob, and his sister, Sandra Golden. He was the son of the late Virgil B. Golden and Viola Brazzel Golden.
