Mr. Nelch was a native of Springfield, Illinois, and was an employee of Harrah's Casino in Metropolis, Illinois.
He is survived by his mother, Dorothy E. Denton Nelch of Springfield; one sister, Janet E. Nelch, and companion, Cheryl Renneckar of Clearwater, Florida; and his companion, Marilyn Cassity of Paducah.
He was preceded in death by his father, Philip C. Nelch.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010, at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah, with Rev. Joe Thorn officiating. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
