Funeral for Ruth Carmichael Lyons, 77, of 709 14th Ave. SE, will be Saturdaay at 2 p.m. at Brown Service Funeral home with the Rev. Dan Kitchens officiating.
Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 9 at the funeral home. The family requests that memorials be made to Central United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one son, John T. Lyons of Decatur; one daughter, Virginia Rutherford of Athens, Ga; one brother, Jay Carmichael of Birmingham; two sisters, Eleanor McCulloch of Decatur and Mamie Mallory of Sylacauga; and three grandchildren.
