Betty R. Heimer, age 77 of Edina, Missouri, passed away Friday, April 29, 2005 at the Northeast Regional Medical Center at Kirksville. Missouri.
She was born November 13, 1927 at Baring. Missouri the daughter of Lila Irene (Coslett) White.
On February 11. 1950 at ShelbyviIIe. Missouri she was united in marriage to Edward "Pete" L. Heimer and he preceded her in death on July 8. 1995. Her parents. One son. Charles Edward Heimer and one brother. Richard White, also preceded her in death.
She is survived by five children. Phyllis Jean Campbell and her husband. Gene of Knox City. Missouri. Tommy Lee Heimer and his wife, Kim of Edina. Missouri. Chris Bunnell and her husband Todd of Unionville. Missouri. Rebecca Wallace and her husband. Jesse of Green City. Missouri and Michael Heimer of Edina. Missouri; seven granddaughters, six grandsons and eight great grandchildren : one brother, Larry White and his wife. Clara of Paris. Missouri and several nieces and nephews.
Betty was a life long resident of Knox County. Missouri. She was employed for several years as a nurse at the Gibson Hospital in Edina. Missouri. at a hospital in Kirksville. Missouri. and the Knox County nursing Home at Edina. She retired in 1993. She was a past member and leader of the Liberty Leaders 4-H Club and a member of the Rutledge Christian Church. Betty enjoyed crocheting, reading and crossword puzzles. Her favorite times were the times spent with her children, grandchildren and family and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday. (May 2. 2005) at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home at Edina, Missouri with Reverend David Howald officiating. Recorded music selections were "Go Rest High On That Mountain" by Vince Gill. "Great Speckled Bird" by Roy Acuff and "Amazing Grace".
Burial was in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery. southwest of Edina. Missouri.
Casket bearers were Roger Parton. Randy Parton, Todd Bunnell. Jesse Wallace. Richard Worthington and Douglas Farris.
An expression of sympathy may be made to the Liberty Leaders 4-H Club in memory of Betty R. Heimer. Memorials may be left at or mailed to the Hudson-Rimer
