Frank A. Afasano, 89, of Stuart, FL, passed away Nov. 19, 2009 at his residence.

Born in Castellammare di Stabia, Italy, [a comune in the province of Naples, Campania region, southern Italy, situated on the Bay of Naples about 30 kilometers southeast of Naples, on the route to Sorrento], he resided in Stuart since 1970, moving from New Haven, CT.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II.

Mr. Afasano was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Before retirement, he was a tool & die maker with Pratt & Whitney for many years.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Marjorie T. Afasano of Stuart; daughter, Gloria J. McCown of Jupiter, FL; brother, Vincent Afasano of New Haven; sister, Nina Nassisi of Valley Cottage, NY; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Frank Jr.

Services will be private.

Memorial contributions in Mr. Afasano's honor may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 SE Indian St., Stuart, FL 34997.
