Joseph Robert Carpenter, 76, of Edina, Minn. and formerly of Boone, passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2010.
Joseph was born on January 25, 1934 in Webster City, Iowa and he grew up in Boone, Iowa. Joseph was a 1956 graduate of the University of Iowa and retired from Campbell-Mithun after a 30-year career. He was a member of Grace Church in Eden Prairie and his interests were spending time with family, music and fishing.
Joseph is preceded in death by his parents, Ross and Dorothy Carpenter. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Karen; daughters, Kim (Tim) Dulas, of Edina; Julie (Bruce) Waldecker, of Grand Rapids, Mich.; sons, Thomas, of Seattle, Wash., and Andrew (Donna) of Minnetonka, Minn.; granddaughters, Kathryn, Sara and Marcy Haymaker, Claire and Ellen Waldecker; grandsons, Samuel and Joshua Carpenter.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 14 and services will be held Thursday, April 15 at 1 p.m. at Washburn McReavy, located at West 50th Street and Highway 100 in Edina. Interment will be held at Lakewood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Eat Balsam Baptist Church.
