Simon Smith, an old resident of the county, and for the past year of the city, died at his home in the Fifth ward last Saturday evening; aged 68 years. The funeral took place from the Presbyterian church, of which he was a member, at 10 o'clock Monday morning, the pastor, Rev. W.W. Thorpe preaching a sermon, appropriate to the age and character of the deceased.
