He was born in Cincinatti, Ohio, June 22, 1850. He was a son of John Kempker, a pioneer merchant of West Point, and deceased came to West Point with his parents in 1855. In October, 1879, he was united in marriage to Sadie Buescher, who preceded him in death twenty-seven years ago.
Deceased is survived by three sons, Leo T. Kempker, who cared for his father for a number of years, John W. Kempker of Portland, Ore., Wm. Kempker of Kansas City, and two daughters, Mrs. L. H. Leisherer of St. Louis, and Mrs. Adelaide Gardner of Kansas City. He is also survivved by one sister, Mrs. Wm. Brockman of West Point, and a number of grandchildren.
Deceased served as town assessor and justice of the peace a long number of years.
Funeral services will be held at St. Mary's church, of which the deceased was a member, Thursday morning at 10 o'clock. Ref. Father Grothe will officiate and interment will be in Calvary cemetery.
