Richard Edward Hudson, 83, of Fredericksburg died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005, at Mary Washington Hospital.

He was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church and had retired from Rosner Motors. He was a World War II Air Force veteran and a member of the Historic Fredericksburg Region of the AACA and Elks Lodge No. 875.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Hilda N. Hudson; his sister-in-law, Nancy Nolen and her husband, Curtis, of Fredericksburg; two nephews; one niece; and several cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, with the Rev. J. Howard Cates officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Wray Nolen, Larry Nolen, Frank Venable, Wayne DuBois, Cecil Hayden and Donald Carneal.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Trudy Clifton, 113 Tallpines Ave., Locust Grove, Va. 22508, or to the Alzheimer's Association, Fredericksburg Office, 217 Princess Anne St., Suite 106-1F, Fredericksburg, Va. 22401.
