Richard Lee White, age 60, of La Belle, Missouri, formerly of Knox County, Missouri, passed away passed away Saturday (October 22, 1994) in the La Belle Manor Care Center in La Belle, Missouri.
He was born September 24, 1934 in Wyaconda, Missouri, the son of Gaylord Lee and Lila Irene Coslett White.
Surviving are one daughter, Deloris Ann Moline and her husband Mike of Wellsville, Kansas: One Son Richard Lee White Jr. and his wife Martha of Kansas City ; one sister Betty Heimer and her husband Edward of Edina, Missouri, and one brother Larry Dale White and his wife Clara of LaPlata, Missouri; six grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. White was raised in the Rutledge, Missouri area where he received his education. From 1951 to 1959 Mr. White served his country in the United States Navy. After his military service he moves to Kirksville, Missouri where he was employed at the Kirksville fire Department and later moved to Kansas City, Missouri where he was also employed by the Kansas City, Missouri Fire Department. Mr. White then moved to Santa Paula, California where he was employed at a dairy company for several years before returning to Knox County in the early 1970's.
He enjoyed fishing and car racing.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday (October 26, 1994) at 1:00 PM in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel in Edina Missouri. The Reverend David Howald will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery south of Edina, Missouri with military rites at the grave side.
Music will be recorded selections "The Battle Hymn Of The Republic" and "The Ragged Old Flag".
Casket bearers will be Cyril Graham American Legion Post #261 of Edina, Missouri.
Military services will be provided by Knox County memorial Post # 4822 V.F.W and Cyril Graham American Legion Post #261 of Edina, Missouri.
Visitation will be after 1:00 PM Tuesday (October 25, 1994) with the family receiving friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Tuesday evening at the Hudson-Rimer funeral Homes Edina Chapel Edina, Missouri 397-2233
