Delmere was born in Lawrenceburg, TN on August 4, 1925.
He was a paratrooper with US. Army Air Corp. until he injured his back during a jump.
He lived in Toledo, OH and operated an Aluminum siding business. He moved his business to Montgomery, AL until he retired. He was also a sheriff's deputy and on the volunteer fire department in Wetumpka, AL.
When he became ill his children brought him back to Toledo to help care for him.
Delmere loved to go to Key Largo in the winters to enjoy deep sea fishing.
Delmere was preceded in death by his parents, Lindsey and Hettie; brothers, Bill and Lowell; sisters, Carline and Pauline.
Surviving are his children, Bob (Linda) Adams, Sharon (Lloyd) Beck, both of Toledo; seven grandchildren; two step granddaughters; many great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and numerous friends throughout the country.
Friends may visit the family at the Neal Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg, TN on Sunday, March 7, 2010 from 2-9 p.m. where services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m.
The family would like to thank Parkcliffe Community for their care early in his illness and all the angels at Franciscan Care Center. They also wish to commend his son, Bob, for having such control and patience in his care giving.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
