Mr. John Adams, a prominent citizen of Lancaster County, died at his residence in Waxhaw on Saturday last, aged seventy-four years. He was clerk of the court from 1828 to 1831, and sheriff of the county from 1845 to 1849.

John Adams, Esq., was on the 13th inst. Elected Sheriff of Lancaster District. The vote stood, Adams 440; Clyburn 287; McIlwain 234; Hammon 103.
