Age 35, a son of Salvatore and Carol Sohl Mallozzi of Erie. A former resident of Erie, he was a 1990 graduate of Penn State University and for the past 10 years lived in Huntsville. He received his master's degree and doctorate in astrophysics from the University of Alabama in Huntsville and was working on his master's degree in computer science. He was formerly employed at NASA in Huntsville and most recently was working for Science Communications Inc. He enjoyed playing golf.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Salvatore and Claire Mallozzi of Ambler, and by his maternal grandparents, Bernard and Catherine Sohl of Erie; and an infant brother, Richard Michael Mallozzi.
Besides his parents, survivors include three sisters, Kathleen Mallozzi of Sarasota, Fla., Barbara Mallozzi of Erie, and Ann Fetterman and her husband, Kenn, of Pittsburgh.
Burial will be at Mary, Queen of Peace Cemetery.
