Kenneth E. Griggs, 83, of Momence, died today, August 28th, 2002 at his home. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Cotter Funeral Home, in Momence, where services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday. Reverend James Ruberg will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, in Momence. Memorials may be made to hospice of Hospice of Kankakee Valley or to the Donor's Choice. Mr. Griggs was a retired farmer and had been a bus driver for Momence School district for 43 years. He was born June 18th, 1919 in Joliet, the son of Lloyd and Mildred Shoop Griggs. Surviving are his wife, the former Iris L. Jensen whom he married February, 25th, 1945 in Momence. One son and daughter-in-law, James and Roberta (Bertie) Griggs of Momence, two grandsons, Travis and Christine Griggs and Kenneth Griggs all of Momence and one great-grandson. -Kankakee Daily Journal, August 28th 2002
