Mrs. Lavena A. DeLong-Fort Gratiot-Mrs. Lavena A. DeLong, 83, of Fort Gratiot, died Aug. 22, 1999 in Port Huron Hospital after a short illness.
Mrs. DeLong was born April 26, 1916 in Deckerville. She married Floyd Gordon DeLong on Feb. 2, 1935 in Deckerville. She was the daughter of the Louis and Vera Fockler.
She attended Westhaven Baptist church.
Mrs. DeLong is survived by her husband Floyd Gordon DeLong of Fort Gratiot; daughter and son-in-law Beverly and Alfred Wieland of Marysville; daughter Joyce Anderson of Barrie,
Ont.; daughter and son-in-law Phyllis and William Jacobsen of Smiths Creek; sons and daughters-in law Curtiss and Nancy DeLong of Marysville, Glen and Gail DeLong of Port Huron and Gary and Doris DeLong of Jeddo; 23 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law Eugene and Helen Fockler of Lexington and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter Barbara Duckworth and 2 brothers Max and Keith Fockler.
Funeral services at 11 a.m Wednesday in Jowett Funeral Home 1634 Lapeer Ave. at 17th St. the Rev. John H. Arnold, Pastor of Westhaven Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in Downing Cemetery in Deckerville hours are 6 to 8 P.M. today and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday in the Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Ave. at 17th St.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Edward Wieland, David DeLong, Robert Cardinal, Alexander Dutton, Jeremy DeLong, Keith DeLong, and Rick Duckworth.
