Milton-Freewater Bessie M. Sherman Beglau, 98 of 112 N.W. 10 St. died June 25, 1997 at her home.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Bellevue Cemetery in Bellevue Idaho with her nephew Bishop Wordell Ramey officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Milton-Freewater Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints through Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home, 902 S. Main St.

Mrs. Sherman Beglau was born on January 21, 1899 in Smith Field as one of five children to James and Christina Larson Bowcutt. The family lived in various areas in Utah. On June 28, 1917, she married Lewis Sherman. They moved to Bou? (illegible), Idaho, and lived elsewhere in Idaho including the Big Woodriver area where they farmed for several years.

After retiring in 1954, the Shermans moved to Milton-Freewater. Mr. Sherman preceded her in death in 1959. On May 28, 1961, she married Kermit Beglau in Elko, Nev., and they made their home in Milton-Freewater where Mrs. Beglau was active in her church.

Her hobbies included gardening, crocheting and being a homemaker.

Surviving are her husband at home; a son, Gerald Sherman of Clark Fork, Idaho; a daughter, Beverly Eylton of Milton-Freewater; a sister, Iola Montgomery of Bellevue, Idaho; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Sherman and three brothers.
