Anthony "Sonny" J. Marrucco, Sr., age 77, a long time resident of New Canaan, died April 13, 2010 at Norwalk Hospital. Born October 30, 1932, in Norwalk, he was the son of the late Dominick and Madeline DeMartino Marrucco. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served with the U.S. Navy. He was the past commander of the Catholic War Veterans, past member of the Knights of Columbus and he enjoyed many activities sponsored by the VFW Post 1628. He was an offset pressman, working for various companies through the years, including Conde Nast in Old Greenwich. Anthony enjoyed building ship models, as well as coin and stamp collecting. He also enjoyed the company of his grandson, John. Anthony is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jeanette Frattaroli Marrucco of New Canaan; his son, Anthony J. Marrucco, Jr of New Canaan; his daughter, Cynthia Torry and her husband, John, III; and his grandson, John, IV all of Camp Hill, Ala.; his sister, Rose Marie Masi of Norwalk; and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at St. Aloysius Church, New Canaan at 9 a.m. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, New Canaan. The family will receive friends at the Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main St. New Canaan on Friday, April 16, 2010 from 4 to 8 p.m. For online condolences, www.hoytfuneralhome.com
