Bernard Roe was for 12 years a rural mail carrier on route No. 2 at Candor NY. He was married twice, leaving his 2nd wife Lucetta and two small children, Hildred & Gerald. Mr Roe was an active member of the Alert hose company of Candor and a member of Veritas lodge I.O.O.F.
In 1912, postman Bernard Roe's horse ran away with him, slipped while jumping the sidewalk, broke a leg, and had to be shot. This was the same horse that kicked W G Bostwick breaking his leg.
