Mr. Kling was born February 24, 1916, in Spring Run, son of the late Charles B. and Rebecca Jane Rhine Kling. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, having served on the USS Wyoming. He retired in August, 1971, from Letterkenny Army Depot. He was a member of Messiah United Methodist Church, Durff-Kuhn Post No. 6168, VFW; Oscar Hykes Post No. 223, American Legion; Shippensburg Fish and Game Association, Shippensburg Chapter of AARP, Wednesday Night Community League Bowling Team and the Sunday Evening Mixed League Bowling Team.
Surviving are his widow, Cora M. Stine Kling; two sons: Thomas D. Kling, Star Route 1, Orrstown; Richard E. Kling, McCreary Drive, R.R. 4; two brothers and two sisters: Robert Kling, Mt. Holly Springs; Albert L. Kling, 11 S. Queen St.; Mrs. William (Alda) Richardson, 301 S. Fayette St., and Mrs. Gail Gunnells, 303 S. Fayette St.; three granddaughters and a number of nieces and nephews.
The service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Messiah United Methodist Church, 30 S. Penn St., conducted by the Rev. Craig Loewen. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received Saturday after 7 p.m. in the Fogelsanger Funeral Home, 112 W. King St.
