Margaret E. Marlow, 74, Anderson, died May 15, 2005, at her residence after a sudden illness.
She was born June 7, 1930, in Elwood, the daughter of Vernon and Doris (Smith) Broyles, and lived in Madison County all of her life and in her present home since 1967.
She was a 1948 graduate of Elwood High School and a member of the Mother's Night Out Euchre Club. She was known as "Sport Mom" and enjoyed watching the Indiana Pacers and the Indianapolis Colts. Margaret and her husband, Jack, had spent the winters in Zephyrhills, Fla., since 1981, where she spent a lot of her time going to antique shops and acquiring a lot of her large tea pot collection.
She loved to read, cook and prepare outstanding meals for her family. Her family was the most important part of her life. She took great pride in their accomplishments. Her grandchildren provided her with love, joy and happiness.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Jack Marlow, whom she married Sept. 23, 1950; two daughters, Mindy (Jerry) DeVaney and Missy (Steve) Swanson; a son, Steve (Elaine) Marlow, all of Alexandria, and a son, Randy Marlow of Berkley, Calif.; two sisters, Lucille (Phil) McKnight of Elwood and Jean (Ralph) Cassidy of Alexandria; six grandchildren, Tracy (Mac) Chapman, Heather (Joe) Wolf, Carrie (Donald) Gaines, Kristina (Brian) Brueggeman, Jenny Swanson and Eric Swanson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Sherry Marlow; brother, George Monroe; and an infant brother and sister.
