Edith Goodwill Nichols, 84, RD 2 Spartansburg, died Wednesday, Dec 20, 2000, at her residence. She was born in Concord Twp, Erie County, Sept 22, 1916, daughter of the late Jesse and Mae Dempsey Goodwill. She graduated from Spartansburg Consolidated School, then worked for Raymond Manufacturing Co. She owned and operated a dairy farm with her husband, retiring in 1990 after 47 years. She was a member of the Spartansburg Grange. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, flying and traveling in the United States and Mexico. She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith S Nichols, whom she married April 19, 1941, and who died in 1995: a son, Lt Colin K Nichols, who was killed in the Vietnam War in 1966; infant twin sisters, Lisa and Theresa Goodwill; two other sisters, Mildred Northrop and Florence Burlingame; and a granddaughter, Jessie Nichols in 1979. Survivors include a daughter, a son, two sisters, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
