Son of Peter and Sarah (Weider) Thomas.Married Margaret Porter in Pickaway County Ohio. Moved to Camp Point, Adams County Illinois 1846. Was Marshall of Louisiana prior to working for an ice company. DWorking for a major ice supply company,he was digging gravel on the Salt River, for an ice storage building. The gravel bank collapsed. He was fatally injured.
