Delbert Coleman Anders, of Honest Ridge, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at the Limestone Medical Center in Groesbeck, at age 82.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, April 16, 2010 at the Groesbeck Funeral Home.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 17, 2010, at the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel, with nephews, Rev. Todd Atwood and Rev. Ken Cargle officiating. Burial will follow at the Honest Ridge Cemetery.

Coleman was born on March 10, 1928 to Thomas Benson Anders and Opal Mae (Thomas) Anders in Wood County, Texas. He grew up and attended school around that area in East Texas. He joined the U. S. Marine Corps in 1947, and served part of his time with the United Nations' Mission in Palestine. On August 28, 1948, Coleman was united in marriage with Attarie Cutright, in West Carroll Parish, Louisiana. After leaving the Marines in 1950, Coleman and Attarie lived around the Dallas area, where he worked as a truck driver. In 1976, they moved to the Honest Ridge community in Limestone County. Coleman worked as a house mover in Mexia, as well as drove heavy haul trucks for Bobby Rutherford in Fairfield and for B.E. Lee in Buffalo. He retired twenty years ago from truck driving but still remained active until his recent illness. He and his wife enjoyed searching garage sales and antique hunting.

Mr. Anders was preceded in death by his parents; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dan and Lydia Cutright; daughter, Judith Windland; sister-in-law Pat Cutright; and three brother-in-laws, Ray Wiley, Charles Camplen, and Ray Cargle; niece, Phylis Wiley; and great grandchild, Zackery Crim.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Attarie, of Groesbeck (Honest Ridge); daughter, Ruthie Crim of Waco; son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Linda Anders of Groesbeck (Honest Ridge); grandchildren, Phil Crim and wife Amanda of Groesbeck; Jack Crim of Tyler; Colin Rainey of Fruitvale; Mysti Porter and husband Jason of Las Vegas, NV, Joaquin Anders of Groesbeck, and Cassie Anders of Groesbeck; 8 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; and sister, Louise and Gary Atwood of Heath,and their sons Todd and Eric; sister, Wanda Wiley of Fort Worth and her children Dorothy and Richie; brother-in-law, Benny Cutright of Flint and his children Pam, David and Jerry; sister-in-law, Dorothy Sims of Terrell and her children Jan and Neil; and sister-in-law Catherine Camplen of Dallas and her sons Don, Ken, Button and Steve.
