He was born near Waco in McLennan County, TX, just ten years after Abraham Lincoln was assassinated. He inherited his name from his father William Pickens Crow and middle name from Grandfather James Stamford Houser. He married Annie Myrtle McCasland in Taylor County, TX, Christmas Eve, 1900

"Will" and Annie were parents to: Claude, Jewel, Kathleen, Pete, Doug, Dave and Patsy. He always worked hard and raised a wonderful family.

During his life time, he was a Cattle Buyer, Ranch Manager, County Tax Collector, Alpine-Balmorhea-Ft Davis Passenger and Mail Operator, and a member of the Fort Davis Mercantile Association.

Grandfather Crow lived through WW1, The Great Depression, WWII, the invention of the automobile, airplane and everything in between.
