Elizaeth was the daughter of Simeon and Mary Ann Thompson Hughes and the widow of John L. Calfee. She married Leroy Wilson Coffman, a returning 10th Alabama Inf. Reg. soldier in the Civil War. They lived for a time in Coosa County, AL before moving to Tula, Lafayette County, MS in the late 1860. They moved to Collin County, Texas in middle 1890s.
