Edward Toney passed from this life on April 14, 2010 at the age of 70. He is survived by his wife Sonia Toney; his son Brett Toney; daughter Cheryl Stephenson; granddaughter Staci Hernandez; grandson Robert Hernandez; great grandson Camden Hernandez; his special niece Katalina Marie Mendez; brothers Bascom Hillard "BH" Toney and Doyle Toney; sisters Ann Elizabeth Hall and Nettie Juanita Gibson; with numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law with their spouses and sisters-in-law with their spouses. Edward is preceded in death by his parents Johnnie E. Toney and Marie Brown Toney. Throughout Edward's life, he was a father, brother and above all a grand friend to many. He enjoyed taking the role of an advisor and counselor both personally and professionally. He was the former Director of Insurance/Risk Manager for "SMT" Southwestern Motor Transports. A special mention is hereby extended to all his friends including Mr. Joe De Lima, everyone at SMT, including the drivers. Many will recall the phrase "See Mr. Toney" (SMT). Visitation is Tuesday April 20, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in New Braunfels with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service is 10:00 a.m. Wednesday April 21, 2010 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with interment to follow at Hill Country Memorial Gardens, New Braunfels.
