Stoudt, in addition to his electrical and plumbing contracting, operated the Stoudt Hardware in Manhattan for 12 years.
He was born in Dixon, Ill., Oct. 4, 1882 and had his schooling there. He was city electrician of Aurora, Ill., just before coming to Montana in 1908.
When first coming to Montana Stoudt homesteaded at Cherry Creek near Terry, moving to Manhattan in 1928. He was in business in Manhattan until 1940, when he moved to Bozeman. Here he was an electrical contractor until 1939 when he moved to Powell, Wyo., then to Joliet in 1963.
Stoudt's first wife, the former Myrtle Young, died in Bozeman in 1951. In 1963 he married Maude Hardesty.
Stoudt was a 50-year member of the Manhattan Masons and the Sweet Briar chapter of Eastern Star. He belonged to the York Rite at Bozeman and Al Bedoo Shrine at Billings.
In addition to Mrs. Stoudt he is survived by three sons, Harold L. Stoudt of Powell, Wyo., Robert S. Stoudt of Watertown, S.D., and Glen R. Stoudt of Choteau, two daughters, Mrs. Lester (Frances) Young of Bozeman and Mrs. Floyd (Helen) Stoner of Manhattan; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at the Dokken-Nelson Sunset chapel with burial in Sunset Hills.
