Jacob was the yougest son of John Rainbolt and Elizabeth VanHuss. His mother died a few months after his birth and he was raised by his stepmother, Freelove Boone. Jacob married Emeline Beyers, born Aug. 23, 1827 PA-died Aug. 14, 1881 MO. She was the daughter of Jacob Beyers and Sarah Young of Pennsylvania. The Beyers family came to Indiana from Ohio in 1844-45 by raft on the wild Ohio River, then into Indiana by wagon to settle by where the present town of Popcorn, Indiana now exists. After his death, Jacob's wife moved to Jasper Co., MO to live with her son. She is buried there in the Weaver Cemetery.
