Mrs. Samuel Steinmetz, 82, rural Valley, died Friday, Janary 12, 1962 in a Viroqua hospital. The former Vernie Krause, she was born in Ohio and married Samuel Steinmetz in Valley tin 1900. Surviving are her husband, two sons, Paul, Richland Center and Robert, Oxfordville, one daughter, Mrs. Leonard Walls, 311 N. Lake St., Madison; two brothers Henry Krause, Middleton; and Jerry, Baraboo; four sisters, Mrs. Elsie Jordan from Iron Mt. MI; Mrs. Lettie Trappe, La Farge; Mrs. Katherine Thomas, Ontario, and Miss Lou Krause, Pasadena, CA; 19 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Evangelical United Brethren Church, Valley. Friends may call at the Ferries Funeral Home, La Farge this afternoon. WSJ 1/14/1962
