G. Eugene Deardorff, 82, of Route 3, Harpers Ferry, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003, at his home.

Born Oct. 1, 1920, in Waynesboro, Pa., he was the son of the late Garnet W. and Rella Benedict Deardorff.

He was a retired tool and die maker with the Bureau of Standards in Gaithersburg, Md.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret E. Deardorff.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II.

He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Uvilla, W.Va.

He was a member of Gold Star Post 191, in Mount Airy, Md., and Lebanon Lodge 7 A.F. & A.M. in Washington, D.C.
